FAQs

This course is open to South Asian women living in Australia.
Permanent residency is not required.
Please note, you must be aged 18 or over to apply for this course.

As there are limited places, to be considered, you need to complete this online application form.
No prior experience is required but we encourage you to demonstrate your passion and willingness to be an active workshop participant in learning stand-up comedy (both creating and performing it) and building connections with fellow South Asian Women doing the course with you (providing feedback and support).

For these first workshops we are doing, they will be run in-person in City of Melbourne on the confirmed dates/times.
If you aren’t able to attend these dates and/or location but would like to do our comedy workshops, we encourage you to still express your interest Apply Here
If there’s enough interest and demand, we can use this to plan future workshops.

As there are limited places and due to the way the course is structured (8 weekly workshops) we will need to offer these to applicants that can make all these dates. You must be able to attend 7 of the 8 workshops and the first 3 workshops are essential.

Thanks to funding from City of Melbourne we are able to offer scholarship places to those who have an address that falls in the City of Melbourne locality.
There are limited scholarships and those experiencing disadvantage will be prioritised hence questions in the application will require personal information.
If you are approved for a scholarship place, there will be a $50 refundable deposit required for scholarships applicants. This will be returned upon completion of the course.
